Indianapolis Colts Take On Falcons in German Capital – Week 10 NFL Action
Hello, fussball fans. How are you? Alles klar I trust on this fine early start to week 10 coming directly from Germany. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the mighty Indianapolis Colts (7-2) face off against the Falcons (3-5). The fifth game played on German soil and the first in the nation’s capital.
Pre-match Key Moments
As sparkly jackets go that is an real standout from Katarina Witt on the opening flip. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.
Well, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have elected to receive. Daniel Jones and company will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a rough one in Pittsburgh?
Not to be outdone the singer belting out the US national anthem has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. We are almost underway after a choir performance for the German anthem. Elegant.
Opening Period Gameplay
Scoreless at 13:30 in the first
Here we go! And we have early drama after Jonathan Taylor receives a short throw, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right side then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to save his bacon with the recovery. Colts are in Falcons territory already.
Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter
And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The risk doesn't work out as Josh Downs fails to catch a fastball from Jones. On the play before the turnover on downs Jessie Bates put a massive tackle on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. Atlanta's defense started strong as they try and snap their string of three losses. Following that, Sauce Gardner makes his first appearance!
Score Recap
TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter
Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was wide open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That moment reflects the first round pick’s career to date.
A disappointing start but it only gets worse for the Atlanta as they cough the ball back to the Indianapolis on the 23-yard line. Michael Penix Jr is sacked and fumbles the football.
A nifty 22-yard run from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to roll in for the score on the next snap. The placekicker skews the extra point wide. Mistake.
TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter
The quarterback recovers from the turnover by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. Drake London makes some substantial catches to put them in the scoring area then the defense opens up for Tyler Allgeier to saunter on to the goal line through the middle of the defense for 13 yards. He completes the drive for a short scoring run of his own. Advantage Atlanta.
