British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world shared sympathy for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
