Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in the Spanish league over two years since relocating for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
